Types of pumps & vendors

Working map of pump categories and brands covered on this site, plus common OEMs referenced in market notes. Not every product line from every vendor is listed—use each brand page and OEM tools for current portfolios.

Rotodynamic (continuous flow)

Head and flow move together; common for lower-viscosity transfer and large flow rates.

Centrifugal (incl. ANSI-style process)
Griswold (PSG). Finish Thompson (sealless / mag-drive and related lines). Also common in channel: Flowserve, Goulds, Grundfos, Cornell, Gorman-Rupp (see Houston competitor map).
Regenerative turbine
Ebsray (PSG)—often LPG / volatile-liquid positioning.
Submersible / dewatering (vendor tools)
Selection calculators on Pump selection tools (e.g. Atlas Copco submersible/surface)—not a dedicated brand page here.

Positive displacement

Roughly fixed volume per cycle or revolution; strong for viscous fluids, metering, and steady flow vs. pressure.

Air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD)
Wilden, Sandpiper, Versa-Matic (via Warren Rupp), All-Flo, Almatec (PSG). OEM tools on selection / parts: ARO, Yamada, Graco Husky, etc.
Electric double-diaphragm (EDD)
Graco QUANTM and similar—links under Pump selection tools.
Metering / dosing
Neptune (PSG). Examples elsewhere: Milton Roy, LEWA (see Houston map).
Sliding vane & gas compressors
Blackmer (PSG).
Eccentric disc
Mouvex (PSG).
Internal & external gear
Viking Pump, Micropump (IDEX FMT).
Peristaltic (hose)
Abaque (PSG).
Quaternary (four-piston) diaphragm — biopharma
Quattroflow (PSG).

The Pump School mirror walks through additional positive-displacement families that are not all broken out as separate vendor rows above—use these links for definitions and selection context.

Reciprocating PD

Lobe (rotary / timed lobe)
Common in sanitary and industrial paste-like fluids. Viking Pump (among others). Principles: Lobe pumps · selection notes in Comparing 4 types of PD pumps.
Gerotor
Related to internal-gear geometry. Gerotor pumps.
Progressive cavity & screw
Single-screw (often called progressive cavity) and timed multi-screw designs. Family tree (Figures 8–9); compare with rotary vs centrifugal.

Other liquid vane configurations
Sliding vane for transfer is covered under Blackmer above; Pump School also discusses swinging, rolling, external, and flexible vane. Vane pumps.
